The Friends Association
The support of the dedicated members of the “Friends and Art of the Museum of Modern Art – Altes Gaswerk Hünfeld” association is of great importance for exhibitions and cultural activities.
Art lovers from Hünfeld and the surrounding area want to generate interest and enthusiasm for the museum. The support, which is provided both conceptually and financially, supports the culturally important work of the museum and at the same time enriches the cultural landscape of eastern Hesse.
Anyone who would like to become a member of the “Friends and Art of the Museum of Modern Art – Altes Gaswerk Hünfeld” association to support this cultural promotion can contact us via the contact form, by telephone (06652) 180-0, or by email at museum-modern-art@huenfeld.de.
IDEA-art association
The IDEA Art Association was founded in 1988 by professor and museum founder Jürgen Blum (1933-2015) in connection with the New Space project gallery he established and the independent art academy in Fulda. With the opening of the Museum of Modern Art in Hünfeld in 1990, which Blum was appointed to direct, the IDEA Art Association also moved to Hünfeld to support the museum project.
Once a year, the members present their work in an annual exhibition in the bell gas tanks of the Museum of Modern Art. The theme of each exhibition project is chosen collectively.
The IDEA Art Association runs an open studio in the former painting school on the grounds of the Museum of Modern Art. Twice a week, members can paint, draw, print, and experiment freely. Public workshops and children's painting courses are also held here regularly during the holidays. In the workshops, participants can discover their talent or deepen their knowledge.
The courses are organized by artists and trained staff at the IDEA Art Association's painting school. Interested parties can contact the chairwoman Petra Müller, telephone (0661) 602396, e-mail idea-kunstverein@hotmail.com.
